Although we register the domain name for you, the domain name is your property as long as the domain name is registered and kept active.
My domain is registered in my web designer, web developer, consultant or xyz’s name. Is this okay?
No. This is NOT recommended.
For e.g. Just as your bank account is the gateway to control your money deposited in that particular bank, your domain name is the gateway to control your entire online presence that you build under that domain name. Further all authorised communication is sent by the domain registrar to the email account of the Domain Registrant only.
No one but you should be the Registrant of the domain name. Further, your active email id must be mentioned as the contact email in the Registrant details.
If anybody else has control of the domain name; take immediate steps to have it transferred under your control.
